As part of our group-wide VERCARESBUERO initiative, we implement targeted measures in our hotels, event venues, and camping sites in the areas of energy, resource management, mobility, and circular economy. These efforts are based on recognized certifications, clearly defined standards, and a commitment to continuous improvement in our day-to-day operations.
Through initiatives promoting diversity, equal opportunities, and voluntary engagement, we foster a culture of respect and inclusion both within our company and in the communities around us.
Certifications & Standards
Independent certification of our properties across VERKEHRSBUERO HOSPITALITY is an integral part of our sustainability strategy. Our locations have received a range of awards and certifications, including:
- Austrian Ecolabel: numerous hotels, Café Central and both MICAMPA locations. Further information
- Green Key: DoubleTree by Hilton Ljubljana. Further information
- EU-Ecolabel: Austria Trend Hotel Congress Innsbruck and both MICAMPA locations. Further information
- In 2026, Hotel Ananas was awarded the DGNB Gold Certificate by the Austrian Sustainable Building Council (ÖGNI) in the category “Buildings in Operation”. In the area of ecological quality, the hotel achieved 91.8% of the assessment criteria.

- 100% renewable electricity across all operations
- LED lighting and energy-efficient building technologies implemented at numerous locations
- Automatic shut-off systems for lighting and electronic devices
- Waste separation systems and ongoing waste reduction measures
- Recycling and circular economy initiatives, such as refillable dispenser systems replacing many single-use products in guest areas
- Water conservation through water-saving fixtures at selected properties
- Housekeeping: Guests at selected hotels can opt out of daily room cleaning, and single-bed linen arrangements help reduce resource consumption
Food & Beverage
- Vegan and vegetarian menu options
- Use of seasonal and regional products wherever possible
- Reduction of food waste through mindful buffet planning and cooperation with Too Good To Go
- Continuous expansion of organic product offerings, including at Café Central. By 2027, the share of vegetarian and vegan dishes at Café Central is expected to increase to 33%.
