is the VERKEHRSBUERO HOSPITALITY’s sustainability program in order to operate in a more environmentally friendly and sustainable way.
All our brands are part of this program: Austria Trend Hotels, BASSENA, Radisson Blu (Hotel Altstadt), Radisson Individuals (Hotel Schillerpark Linz, Hotel Rathauspark Wien), Hotel Astoria Wien, Palais Events (Palais Ferstel, Palais Daun-Kinsky & Wiener Börsensäle), Café Central, Camping Wien (West & Neue Donau) and the Palace Hostel Wien.
In these 11 fields of action, CARES proactively identifies and shows measures of sustainability.

Energy consumption
One of the most effective ways of cutting CO2 is by reducing energy consumption (electricity consumption etc.). We are implementing measures to become energy-efficient.

Amenities
Our businesses combine many products under their roofs. We are implementing measures to shift the focus onto low CO2 and certified products.

In addition to our guests, we also look after small living organisms and the biodiversity which is essential to our ecosystem.

Mobility
Another effective way of getting closer to climate neutrality is by focusing on mobility. This is why the majority of our employees already use public transport and we reward our guests for travelling to the hotel in an environmentally-friendly way.

✓ GO GREEN package as an incentive for an environmentally-friendly journey to all hotels

Simply with conscious nutrition, every individual – and we as a group – can achieve a great deal to ensure our future.

The conscious use of our resources can have a big impact. Remember the three Rs:

Water is one of the most precious resources on our planet. We are implementing measures to reduce consumption.
✓ Fittings with sensors and/or water-saving mechanisms

Cleanliness and hygiene are important. Nevertheless, we are making sure that we look after our environment in the field of cleaning.
✓ Cleaning products with the Austrian Ecolabel
✓ Only changing towels when requested by guests by leaving them on the floor!

Heating and cooling
A pleasant atmosphere can also be created by heating and cooling. This is another area which can have a big impact and reduce our energy consumption.
✓ Use of district cooling where possible (within the limits of conversion measures)
✓ Regulating temperature settings in the rooms: No cooler than 23°C in the summer and no warmer than 20°C in the winter

We are continually undertaking further training to keep us well-educated and up-to-date with regard to current issues.

Certificates are important to us in order to ensure environmental quality standards. Furthermore, it is of utmost significance that we always implement these criteria in our everyday work.

✓ Building certifications: Energy Performance Certificate, ONORM 1301 (approx. 50% of the portfolio)
